Hello!
My name is Thai Jackson, an animation major at Depaul University with a strong interest in visual storytelling. I am passionate about creating compelling narratives through storyboarding and character development, and aiding others in telling their stories.
Not only do I love creating engaging, unique stories, I have a great interest in pushing the ways in which I create those stories. Constantly learning and using new methods (for example, using different camera movements/angles, and a variety of ways to show the characters emotions) is important in the way I work. I also believe that narrative clarity and pacing are extremely important. And my education so far has given me a good foundation in creating the kind of stories I want to tell. You can see this in my short film Yamauba and my storyboard scene Western Yokai. I give a plot the time to build, until the story reaches its climax. In addition, I like to vary my shot choices and acting, to show visual interest.
I am eager to further develop my skills through working with experts in the industry. I would like to continue to learn from others and then apply what I have learned to contribute to animation and film projects as a storyboard artist within a professional setting. So, I invite you to take a look at my work and learn more about me and the stories I love to tell.
